South Africa must be expelled from AU-Paul Kagame

RWANDA’S President Paul Kagame has said South Africa must be expelled from the African Union over xenophobic attacks on African foreigners so as to send a clear message that Africa must be united and indivisible in the face of challenges of globalization.

Kagame, who is Tha past chairperson of the African Union, says it was strange that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa recently sent an update on xenophobia to regional leaders which said only one foreigner had been killed in the violence, yet all evidence is there that several foreigners died.

South African authorities have also reportedly angered their regional counterparts when they insisted that the attacks on African foreigners are not xenophobia but pyre criminal incidents.

Speaking to Rwanda media over the weekend, Kagame said: “When I hear my counterpart Ramaphosa say that only one foreigner was killed and there were only ten deaths, I think the Republic of South Africa must just be expelled from all African Union bodies.

“Africa is called upon to be united and indivisible in the face of challenges of the 21st century that include globalization.”

Kagame said that as he received Africans who had been stuck in Libya but have since been accepted to stay in Rwanda.
