IGP deploys DIG Gumel, 17 Commissioners of Police to strategic commands nationwide
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of a newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police and 17 Commissioners of Police to key departments, commands, and formations across the country as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and improve service delivery in the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the postings are aimed at enhancing leadership, boosting public safety, and reinforcing professionalism within the Force.
Under the new deployment, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel has been assigned to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID). Among the Commissioners of Police redeployed, CP Aina Adesola has been posted to the Delta State Police Command, CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia to the Kebbi State Police Command, and CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor to the Bayelsa State Police Command.
Other postings include CP Osagie John Agans-Irabor as Commissioner of Police, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos; CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola to the Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja; and CP Adepegba K. Adetoye to the Marine Unit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Also redeployed are CP Tabitha Bako as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Kaduna; CP Umar Ali Fagge as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; CP Audu Garba Bosso to General Investigation, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha to Community Policing at the Force Headquarters; and CP Arikpo Ofem Ikpi to the Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Further postings include CP Cyril Uchenna Obiozo as Commissioner of Police, Maritime Command, Lagos; CP Samuel Yerima as Coordinator of Courses, Police Staff College, Jos; CP Alhaji Mohammed Danlandi to X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Richard Bala Gara to the Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters; CP Lasisi A. Titilola to the Railway Command, Lagos; and CP Obuagbaka C. John to the Safer Highway unit, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP charged the newly deployed senior officers to apply their experience and expertise in providing purposeful and result-driven leadership, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in line with the rule of law.
The deployments take immediate effect.
