Saraki Defends Tinubu, Dismisses Betrayal Claims Within APC

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has dismissed suggestions that he was betrayed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his time in the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing such claims as unfair.

Saraki made the clarification while responding to a question posed by media personality Seun, who asked whether he felt betrayed by Tinubu while both were in the ruling party.

Reacting, Saraki said the question wrongly portrayed the president, insisting that Tinubu had no significant influence in the administration at the time of his political challenges.

“I think that question is unfair on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Very unfair,” Saraki said.

He further explained that Tinubu was not involved in the circumstances surrounding his alleged persecution, noting that the former Lagos governor neither had prior knowledge nor played any role in the issues he faced.

“President Tinubu, in the last administration, didn’t have a say. He had no such influence as being wrongly perceived. He knew nothing about my persecution,” he added.

Saraki’s remarks appear to counter longstanding narratives suggesting internal betrayals within the APC during the previous administration.
