FG Shuts Roads Around Federal Secretariat, Eagle Square for APC Convention

The Federal Government has announced the temporary closure of access roads surrounding the Federal Secretariat Complex and Eagle Square in Abuja ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The directive was conveyed in a circular released on Thursday by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. It stated that the road closures will be enforced from Friday, March 27 to Saturday, March 28, 2026.

According to the notice, the restriction is necessary due to the scheduled use of Eagle Square for the APC’s national convention.

“All Ministries, Extra-Ministerial Departments, Agencies, and Offices within Federal Secretariat Phases I, II, and III are hereby notified of the closure of all access routes leading to and around the complex during the specified period,” the circular stated.

In addition, the government directed staff working within Phases I, II, and III of the Federal Secretariat Complex, as well as those in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to work remotely on Friday.

The circular also tasked permanent secretaries and heads of agencies with ensuring full compliance among their personnel.

The directive was signed by Abdul S. U. Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
