NCDMB, OFY Multi Dynamics Conclude Electricity Meter Repairs, Switchgear Training In Lagos
An intensive two weeks Electricity Meter Repairs and Electrical Distribution Switchgear training and empowerment programme for 50 beneficiaries in Lagos State has been concluded.
The programme was sponsored by Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with OFY Multi Dynamics Ltd.
The training, which held from July 13 to July 24, 2026 in Lagos State, was designed to equip Nigerians with practical, industry relevant skills in line with NCDMB’s mandate to deepen local capacity and promote Nigerian content in the power and energy sector.
Speaking at the close-out ceremony, representatives of the management of OFY Multi Dynamic stated that the programme was part of ongoing efforts to bridge the skills gap in electricity distribution and metering, while creating sustainable employment opportunities for youths.
Participants were trained on fault diagnosis, repair and calibration of single-phase and three-phase electricity meters, installation and maintenance of electrical distribution switchgear, safety procedures, and best practices in line with industry and regulatory standards.
The programme adopted a 70% practical, 30% theory approach. Beneficiaries received hands-on experience using modern tools and equipment, alongside classroom sessions on electrical principles, safety, and customer service in the power sector.
Some of the participants expressed gratitude to NCDMB and OFY Multi Dynamics Ltd, describing the training as ‘life-changing’ and a direct pathway to self-employment and jobs in DISCOS and other power sector companies.
The completion of this programme brings to 50 the number of skilled technicians now available in Lagos State to support meter repairs and electrical distribution operations, further strengthening Nigerian content in the energy sector.
