Promotion of Remo Stars FC Attracts More Fans To Ogun Stadium

The recent promotion of Remo Stars Football Club to Nigeria Professional Football League,NPFL, has started recording positive soccer status of Ogun State,investigation revealed.
Our correspondent further findings showed that,since attainment of the promotion by the club, thousands of football lovers now storm stadium to watch matches of the club.
The club founded and financed by a businessman Prince Kunle Soname, is based in Ogun State,and recently attained the highest level of local football in the country was as a result of hardwork.
So far findings also revealed that,the two home matches played by the club at Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu witnessed impressive turnout of spectators in thounsands.
Interestingly, footballers of the relegated Ogun State Government owned Gateway FC, were also part of thousands of spectators always earger to watch the skill of the well-packaged privately owned team.
Majority of soccer fans who spoke with Gatewaymail said they were comfortable with the club,having attained the promotion,which they described as added advantage to soccer development in the state.
Speaking during an interview with our correspondent, former Chairman Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Hon Femi Allen-Taylor, said the promotion of the club was a tonic to encourage soccer lovers in the state.
His words ‘As we can see influx of soccer fans at the stadium. This is a confirmation to turn around of soccer development in the state. The turnout of fans have continued to increase at the stadium’.
Similarly , Dimeji Awoyemi,former Chairman,Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ),Ogun State Council said the lost glory of soccer in Ogun State is gradually returning,stressing that,the performances of the club has continued to encourage more soccer fans to the stadium.
He also commended the club management for showing commitment, and also applauded tthe founder for pumping human and financial resources for the developmental growth of the club.
Awoyemi, who is also a sports analysist, expressed optimism that, with the emergence of the club,it would positively change soccer status of the state.
In a related development, Chairman of the Club, Prince Kunle Soname has disclosed that his incursion to raising football team was aim to discourage youths from crime.
He made this known while featuring as guest of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN),Ogun State Chapter,held at Moshood Abiola International Stadium,Abeokuta.
The elated founder of the football club and chairman Beta9ja said, the promotion of the club to the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL), which is the highest level of local football in the country was as a result of hardwork.
Meanwhile, the home match between Remo Stars FC and Abia Warriors ended in favour of the home team defeating the guest team with 1-0 victory at the end of the explosive 90 minutes encounter played on Sunday at Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu
