Police reinstates Speaker Meranda’s security details

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the reinstatement of security details for the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Meranda.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, made the announcement during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja on Thursday.

Earlier that morning, the security escorts assigned to the Speaker’s office and residence had been withdrawn.

Jimoh confirmed that these security personnel have now been reinstated.

He explained that the withdrawal of security for the Speaker and other Very Important Personalities (VIPs) was part of an ongoing audit of police personnel and firearms.

Additionally, he noted that this audit is being carried out across police commands in other states as well, not just in Lagos.
