OLD STUDENTS DONATE E-LIBRARY TO SCHOOL.

‎The Old Students Association Lisabi Grammar School Abeokuta under the aegis of 1997 on Thursday commissioned and donated an E-library for students of the school, after 20 years of passing out of the institution.

The President General of the association,  Dr. Olumide Sorunmu said that the library was donated by the members as part of activities marking  20 years of passing out from the institution and to give back to their alma mater .

The vetenary Doctor, who lamented that social media was taking over  the reading culture from  the students said that the library would inculcate serious reading culture into them.

Hear him “unfortunately, civilization is fast turning our young ones away, hence a need for total re-inclusion of library into learning. We have encouraged them to go back to the library pick  their books and sink their heads in to it ”

“We want them to feel so at home as they gather knowledge by themselves. From this day, we want the library to become the womb of greatness for our young academicians- hence we have come with this token,”,the worldwide president of the set said

“To this end, on this day  we are donating sets of furniture to the School library. We want our young “Lisabians” to feel comfortable as they sink their heads into books.” he added

Sorunmu  noted that the sets of furniture donated to the library would only occupy about 40 computers with a number of 40 students operating the systems.

While making reference to notable individuals who were products of the school which include the founder of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare ,  the former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Tunde Lemo, among others,  urged the students to focus on their studies in order to be great in life.

He emphasised ” Take your destiny in your hand. Help yourself to unlimited greatness because no one can really put you down until you sponsor the coup yourself. Invest your life into learning and learning alone.

Speaking the Principal of the Senior Secondary School,  Lisabi Grammar School, Mr. Olufemi Okeowo thanked the body for donating the library, saying that it would help to promote the poor readership culture among the students.

The Acting Head boy, Olukoya Ayobami, noted that the library would boost the reading culture of the students and also aid their academic performance.
