NGO SET TO FLOAT YOUTH POLITICAL PARTY IN NIGERIA
A Non-Governmental Organisation and pressure group,with the aim to float a youth political party in future election in the country is now in the offing.
The body flag off of the Ogun State Chapter was announced on Monday in Abeokuta, following meeting of members,which comprises majorly youths across the state.
The Vice President of the body known as Fix Nigeria Group,Mrs Abiodun Popoola said the platform has the mandatory to awakening the consciousness of the progressive minded Nigerians,towards taking their destinies into their hands.
‘Note we might decide to float a youth driven political party in the future. The project is better known as youthocracy and defined as the government of the people,by the youth and for the people’,she emphasised.
She disclosed that,the group was founded by a journalist and an author,Tunde Eso, adding that,it has also been registered under the Nigeria law.
Popoola disclosed that,the target of this movement was focusing on the age grade between 18 to 45 years.
‘Fix Nigeria Group is a patriotic move founded by Tunde Eso to awakening the consciousness of the progressive minded Nigerians which major members are youths towards taking their destinies into their hands politically, economically and socially in Nigeria’,she said.
The group boss explained that,as at now, the body remained non-partisan,but affirmed that,it would soon transform into active politics in nearest future.
She said the vision include;to promote the economic and social interest of its members and Nigerians home and abroad.
*To create a society in which an informed and active citizenry is sovereign and makes policy decisions based on the will of the majority.
*To advocate for a better and formidable society befitting enough as a place of abode for all nations.
The organisation Vice President also said the mission was to build a system of governance through activism,education,empowerment and collaborations.
She explained that,the code of conduct of the project was to ensure the integrity of the group,while criminal or divisive activities are totally prohibited
She also added that,the objectives will increase and support youth participation in political activities, governance process and sustenance of democracy.
‘We shall Identify, mobilize, organize, engage and position our youth to be economically empowered,promote and advocate for social inclusion, social justice, injection of new political ideas, peace building’.
