Hackers breach mobile phones of Dangote, Otedola
Hackers have reportedly infiltrated the mobile phones of Africa’s leading businessmen, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, raising security concerns around targeted attacks on high-profile figures.
According to TheCable, the devices of Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, and Otedola, Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, were compromised within the past week. Sources close to both billionaires confirmed the breach, though details regarding the extent of access gained or the potential data exposed remain undisclosed.
It is not yet clear whether the incidents are connected or part of a wider coordinated cyberattack on influential business leaders in Nigeria.
Security experts warn that such breaches could carry significant risks, including unauthorized access to confidential communications, financial information, or strategic business data.
Neither Dangote Group nor First HoldCo Plc has issued a formal statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report. Cybersecurity analysts are urging corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals to strengthen digital security measures amid rising cases of sophisticated hacking attempts.
