Tinubu mourns Kano business leader Bature Abdulaziz
… Condemns Killing of Woman and Six Children
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of prominent Kano-based businessman and community leader, Alhaji (Dr.) Bature Abdulaziz, describing his passing as a significant loss to the business community and the nation at large.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the influence of the late Abdulaziz extended far beyond Kano, given his contributions to commerce and national unity.
Dr. Abdulaziz, who died over the weekend in Kano, was the National President of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria and played key roles in several commerce-related unions.
President Tinubu also acknowledged the support he received from the late business leader during the 2023 presidential campaign, as well as his consistent advocacy for patriotism and national cohesion through the Patriotic Elders Network for Peace (PENP), which he founded.
The President condoled with the Kano business community, the people of the state, and the state government over the loss, praying for comfort for the family and associates of the deceased.
In a related development, President Tinubu strongly condemned the brutal murder of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in Chiranci community, Kano State.
He described the act as barbaric and unacceptable.
The President commended the Nigeria Police Force for the swift arrest of the principal suspects and directed that a thorough investigation be carried out, followed by diligent prosecution to ensure justice is served.
He also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, assuring them of the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and bringing perpetrators of violent crimes to justice.
