CAF condemns misconduct during AFCON 2025 final in Rabat
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has strongly condemned the misconduct displayed by some players and officials during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 final between hosts Morocco and Senegal in Rabat.
In a statement released after the highly charged encounter, CAF described the behaviour as unacceptable, stressing that any form of inappropriate conduct—especially actions directed at match officials and tournament organisers—undermines the integrity of the competition.
The continental football body revealed that it is currently reviewing all available video footage and reports from the final match, adding that the matter will be referred to the relevant CAF disciplinary bodies for further action.
CAF reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline, respect and fair play across all its competitions, warning that appropriate sanctions would be imposed on any individuals found culpable following the ongoing review.
