GUNMAN KILLED MAN IN ABEOKUTA
A runaway gunman on Saturday has shot dead a motorboy at a carwash centre located along Sam Ewang Estate,Abeokuta,alleging that the fuel tanker the boy was working with blocked his passage.
The lifeless body of the victim was found on the ground when our correspondent visited the scene,while an eyewitness said,the alleged killer was said to have brought his Sienna car to the carwash centre.
The witness account further on completion of the wash,the manapproached the motorboy for need to look for his boss to remove the truck for him to have a passage.
It was also gathered that,the truck with registration number TTD 456XA and inscription NIPCO,was brought to the carwash centre for washing,while the driver parked opposite the centre,awaiting when there would be a parking space.
The account also said,the driver strolled within the vicinity, while the motorboy was sitting inside the vehicle,before the gunman approached him.
It was gathered that,the motorboy,identified as Aro was said to be pacifying the man for him,to enable him look for his boss,when he pulled out a gun and fired the boy at close range on the heart region.
There was pandemonium thereafter, as the staff of the carwash centre and other customers fled into different direction. The gunman,then escaped from the scene
When contacted, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the sad incident,adding that the command was going to commence forensic investigation into the murder.
His words ‘It is true, the Commissioner of Police has ordered that forensic investigation be carried out. He has also directed that homicide section of the state investigation and intelligence department should take over the case for proper investigation with the view of bringing the culprit to justice’.
