Governor Sani Warns Against Anti-Democratic Moves as Presidential Media Team Praises Kaduna Projects

The Presidential Media Team has commended ongoing infrastructure development in Kaduna State, describing it as a clear reflection of the impact of fiscal reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The team, led by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the remarks during an inspection tour of federal and state government projects across Nigeria’s North-West region.

Key projects visited include the 35-kilometre Gadan-Gayam, Gwaraji, and Kujama road network linking 76 farming communities across Igabi, Kajuru, and Chikun Local Government Areas, a multi-billion-naira Skills Acquisition Centre, and the 300-bed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital.

Other members of the delegation included Sunday Dare, Tunde Rahman, Otega Ogra, and Tope Ajayi.

Speaking at a state banquet attended by over 50 journalists, Onanuga said Kaduna’s transformation reflects improved funding to subnational governments, which has enabled large-scale infrastructure delivery.

According to him, the administration of Governor Uba Sani has effectively utilised increased allocations to bridge infrastructure gaps and improve living standards.

“Some communities in Kaduna went without roads for two decades. Governor Uba Sani is now opening up the state and developing every part of it,” he said, adding that he would report the progress to the President.

Governor Sani, in his remarks, urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against what he described as desperate attempts by opposition elements to undermine democracy.

He cautioned citizens against being swayed by “self-serving narratives” from individuals and groups more interested in political power than national development.

The governor also reflected on Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle, referencing slain journalist Dele Giwa and activist Bagauda Kaltho as symbols of the sacrifices made to secure democratic governance.

He commended members of the presidential media team for their continued efforts in promoting democratic values and communicating the achievements of the current administration.

The tour also included an inspection of the Kaduna-Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi railway project. According to officials from the Federal Ministry of Transportation, the Kaduna-to-Kano section of the 203-kilometre rail line has reached 68 per cent completion, with delivery expected by December 2026.
