Tinubu Receives Adeleke at Aso Rock After Osun Re-election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday evening received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, in their first meeting since Adeleke secured re-election in the state governorship election held last Saturday.

Adeleke arrived at the Villa’s forecourt at about 5:25 p.m., dressed in a navy-blue traditional outfit and carrying a walking stick. He arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

The meeting came days after Tinubu personally congratulated Adeleke on his electoral victory, describing the result as a “fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country.”

The President had also urged the governor to extend his hand of fellowship to all residents of Osun State, irrespective of their political affiliations or choices during the election.

Several members of Adeleke’s team were also sighted at the Presidential Villa shortly after his arrival.

They included the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; the Osun State Governor’s Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and Bamidele Salam, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency.

The visit is expected to further highlight the relationship between the Presidency and the Osun State government following Adeleke’s return to office for another term.
