Gov AbdulRahman Promises To Use TAICO Template To Revamp Kwara Football Academy
In line with campaign promised to resuscitate moribund sectors in the state, Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq has made it know that his administration will ensure one time most celebrated football academy in the country, “Kwara Football Academy” regained its lost glory in producing talented footballers.
Governor AbdulRahaman disclosed this at Thomas Adewumi International College, Oko, in Irepodun local government area of the state While commissioning the newly built Sport Academy in addition to the many feats of the iconic college.
The Governor, said “sustainable sports academy is what Kwara state is supposed to do but it has failed. We will resuscitate Kwara Football Academy but we will learn about the process (of running it efficiently) here (at TAICO)”

The Governor who shower special praise on the proprietor and management of the school for the top quality education and services offered, and also promised to initiate an exchange programme between Kwara State Government and TAICO in area of teachers and management.
Added that he was overwhelmed with the standard and maintenance culture of the school and Chalenge other schools in the state to strive and meet up with the standard of TAICO. Said, his government will try and uplift the standard of education in the state in all ramifications.
While giving his remarks, the proprietor of the school, Dr. Johnson Adewumi said the establishment of the sports academy was influenced by the success of the college in academic performances.
“With the creation of TAICO Sports Academy, we are setting out on a mission which others have chosen to ignore, we are determined to provide a career pathway for young Nigerians with interest in sports”
Asiwaju of Oko Ireseland, however, appreciated the Governor for the visit and commissioning of the Sports Academy and urged him to continue with a modest style he brought to the public office.
