CSP Benjamin Hundeyin Appointed as New Force Public Relations Officer
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as its new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Hundeyin, who previously served as the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, will succeed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Muyiwa Adejobi. Following his promotion, DCP Adejobi has been reassigned to the Delta State Police Command, where he will serve as Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations.
According to Naija Police & U, police authorities have described the move as a standard administrative transition aimed at fostering career growth and optimizing human resources within the Force. They emphasized that the change is neither punitive nor unusual.
CSP Hundeyin brings extensive expertise in both security operations and strategic communication to his new national role. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. His professional development includes specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army’s leadership institute in Jaji.
An active member of several professional organizations, Hundeyin is affiliated with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN). He has also served in an international capacity with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), gaining valuable experience in peacekeeping and crisis communication.
Since March 2022, Hundeyin has led the Lagos State Police Command’s public relations team, earning praise for his proactive media engagement and public outreach. In his new capacity as FPRO, he is expected to lead the Force’s communication efforts, promote transparency, and build public confidence through effective strategic messaging and crisis communication.
