About ten thousand hand sanitisers have been distributed across Ogun State as part of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus diseases.

The gesture is being carried out by Hon. Ladi Adebutu, former member, House of Representatives and People Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in the state.

While distributing the sanitisers at Panseke motor park in Abeokuta on Monday, Hon. Sikiru Ogundele, the factional PDP state chairman noted that the gesture was a little contribution from the honorable to assist the people of the state at this trying times.

Ogundele said: “Today, we are distributing up to 10,000 hand Sanitisers to the good people of Ogun as our little contribution to help in curtailing the spread of the dreaded coronavirus in our state.

“The distribution of the hand sanitisers started yesterday at Sagamu and it is being simultaneously distributed as I speak in other locations in the state.

“While we appreciate the efforts of the state, and federal government so far in this battle, we believe that this is the time for everyone to be involved in one way or the other.

“Hon. Adebutu knows that not everyone can afford the sanitisers at the crucial time, even as the prices has gone up due to scarcity, so he mandated that the distribution should be for the less privileged, and that’s why you see us in the market place, car parks and streets.”

Meanwhile, he called on the state government to provide enough economic stimulus package for the citizens, adding that the total lockdown would have a serious adverse effects on the populace if not handled properly.
