Buhari mourns victims of Niger floods and Kano road accident

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in recent disasters that struck Niger and Kano States.

In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari extended his condolences to the governments and people of both states. He mourned the more than 100 individuals who perished in devastating flash floods that swept through parts of Niger State last week, destroying homes and displacing thousands.

The former president also sympathized with Kano State following the deaths of 22 young athletes, coaches, and officials involved in a fatal auto crash.

In his message to the bereaved families and affected communities, Buhari said the twin tragedies were deeply painful and had left him and many others profoundly shocked.

“I am deeply pained by the loss of lives due to the floods in Niger State and the road accident in Kano State. The deaths are painful and devastating,” he stated. “Condolences to the families and friends of all those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.”
