Breaking: Boko Haram Insurgents Attack Health Facility In Yobe, Cart Away Drugs

Gumsa Community in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State were thrown into pandemonium when gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Insurgency stormed the town and started firing up their guns sporadically.

ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Yobe Police Command, Damaturu confirmed the incident to Daily Independent on Tuesday that gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram insurgents attacked Gumsa Community around 10:00pm on Monday night.

According to him, the insurgents stormed the town and headed to the health facility in the area “burnt down the ambulance and carted away some drugs”.

A resident of the area who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that “sincerely we are living in fears, we had been panicking even before the attack, we feel unsafe because we used to hear that they have been sighted in the sorrounding bush, we have surrendered everything in the hands of God, it is very unfortunate that they come, attack and go freely.”
