Authorities uncover human skull at Church construction site
In a major breakthrough in the fight against criminal activity in Enugu State, security operatives have uncovered a human skull and ritual paraphernalia at a church construction site in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area. The site, located at Abile Hill in Isi-Agu, Ibagwa-Aka, is allegedly linked to Prophet Chinedu Solomon Ezedike, who is under investigation in connection with the recent murder of four children in the area.
The disturbing discovery was made during a coordinated security sweep led by the Divisional Police Officer of Igbo-Eze South, with the support of local and federal agencies. The operation was prompted by credible intelligence pointing to the use of the remote site for suspected ritual activities.
According to Barrister Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, the raid was part of an ongoing effort to expose and dismantle criminal networks operating under the guise of religious institutions. He noted that the structure, purportedly being developed as a Synagogue by the suspect, contained clear signs of illicit practices, including a human skull and ritual staff.
“This is a wake-up call to all of us,” Barr. Ukwueze said in a statement shared on Facebook. “The evidence discovered at the construction site reinforces the urgent need to remain vigilant and proactive in our fight against criminality. The safety and dignity of our people remain our highest priority.”
This latest operation follows the government’s swift action to demolish the original site where the gruesome killings of the four siblings occurred—a move intended to send a strong message against ritual murder and cultism.
The recovered items have been turned over to the Nigerian Police for forensic analysis as investigations continue into a case that has deeply unsettled the community.
Ukwueze emphasized the resolve of Enugu State’s leadership to restore peace and justice. “With the backing of His Excellency, Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, we are fully committed to ridding our communities of every form of criminal enterprise. No hiding place will be spared,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation for the dedication and coordination of the Nigeria Police, DSS, Military, Igbo-Eze South Neighbourhood Watch, and Forest Guards, praising their unified response to the crisis.
“Our society must not tolerate evil disguised as faith,” Ukwueze added. “We stand together to defend the values that keep our communities strong and safe.”
As law enforcement intensifies efforts to investigate all properties connected to the suspect, local residents remain vigilant, united in their demand for justice and lasting security across Enugu State.
