ATIKU,SARAKI,SOUTH-WEST GOVERNORS STORM LAGOS FOR OONI’S BOOK
Former Vice President Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, is to lead other personalities as guests at the public presentation and launch of a book titled,’Otise see’ in honour of Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The spokesman for the launch committee, Babajide Macauley made this known to journalists on Friday,adding that the event is scheduled to hold next Tuesday in Lagos.
He said Atiku would be chairman of the occassion, while other eminent Nigerians to grace the occassion include Senate President,Dr Bukola Saraki,as well as governors of South West States, members of the diplomatic corps and other top government functionaries.
Macauley added further that,also expected are traditional rulers across the country including, corporate Nigeria, civil society groups and the media. He said Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode will be the chief host,.
The committe spokesman,while giving details of the book, disclosed that it is “a compendium of select accolades and goodwill messages in honour and commemoration of the installation of , Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the 51st Ooni of Ife and Arole Oodua.
He added that, the 324 page bookwork, was written by a research and documentation outfit, Printmarks International. “It is an archival reference material that seeks to promote Yoruba cultural values, customs and civilization.”
Macauley said,major highlight of the event is the conferment of honourary awards by the Ooni on some select prominent Yorubas “in recognition of their contributions to the progress of the Yoruba race over the years and who have distinguished themselves in their various areas of human endeavour,.
