You are still part of security apparatus – Bichi tells retired personnel

The Director General Department of Security Service(DSS), Yusuf Mogaji Bichi has urged retired officers of the Department to continue seeing themselves as part of security apparatus of the country, even after leaving office.

The Bichi who made this known to the retirees at the maiden edition of 2021 end of the year party and annual lecture of the Association of Retired Officers of Department of State Services of Nigeria(ARODSSON), Ogun State Chapter held in Abeokuta, emphaised that, the retirement of the officers, should not signify that, they are tired.

Represented by Muhammed Ali at the ceremony , the DG explained that they still have enough qualities of experiences to offer .

According to Bichi, the Department of Security Services(DSS), still recognises them , as part and parcel of the operations, hence, the need to make themselves available , stressing that the offices are open for them as stakeholders.

“As retirees, you are not tired, you should still see yourself as relevant, you are still recognised as member of SSS. The offices are open for you, you may be retired, but see yourself as not tired’, the Director General emphasised.

The guest lecturer at the event was a renowned legal practitioner, Habeeb Ajayi who delivered lecture on the theme. ’Human Rights and Insecurity-Perspectives of a Developing Nation: Nigeria as a Case Study’

The highlights of the event was awards presented to some personalities, which include the retirees and individual personalities for various categories: Outstanding award, Recognition award, Appreciation award and Leadership award

Meanwhile, some notable personalities at the occasion include: Lanre Bankole (Ogun State Commissioner of Police), Soji Ganzallo (Commander So-Safe-Corps), David Akinremi(Commander Amotekun Corps) and Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder Penpushing Media) among others
