Oleh/Ozoro Killings: Death Toll Rises To 11 Corpses
Following the killings in Oleh and Ozoro Kingdoms’ in Delta State where nine persons were killed, a search party has recovered two more corpses believed to be among the casualties from the killings over land dispute in Oleh Community.
Recall that nine persons were dastardly killed recently in a communal crisis between Oleh and Ozoro communities and several others declared missing, a situation that had in the last few weeks attracted top Isoko sons and daughters for both communities to ceasefire and embrace peaceful coexistence
It was gathered that the two corpses recovered were already decomposing and mutilated as they were recovered at different parts of the forest by the search party, while the Identified corpses were mainly teenagers of about 15 years with one of them a JSS3 student allegedly hired for the dirty job.
Meanwhile, the eldest daughter of one of the Killed persons, Mr Friday Igeme alongside four others, has decried the gruesome murder of her father, mother and other siblings, saying that she at present an orphan who had no hopes again except otherwise; and appealed to the state government to come to her aid before she thinks of taking her life in the forest.
In another development, Commercial Motorcycle operators who went on rampage at the weekend in Oleh Community, have been accused of looting and vandalizing the Association’s Secretariat as this was alleged by the Association’s Chairman, Mr Kingsley Ojobodo
Ojogbodo alleged that the motorcycle operators looted property that include: generators, 100 plastic chairs, booklets of tickets among others adding that besides the looting, the motorcycle operators allegedly vandalized the extension of the secretariat, damaged and pulled down the roof, the Nigeria flag in front of the office.
But the leader of the motorcycle operators, Mr Godwin Ejiro denied the allegations as untrue adding that Ojogbodo who is the chairman was framing up lies to gain favour elsewhere and appealed to the police commissioner, Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah to step into the matter with a view to bringing evildoers to arrest.
