We’ll continue to train, retrain our staff – OGHASC Chair

The Chairman, Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Prince Suraj Ishola Adekunbi has reaffirmed that his office will not relent in the training and retraining of staffers across House of Assembly and its Commission in order to make them more effective and productive.

The Chairman, OGHASC gave this affirmation while speaking with newsmen at his Office, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Adekunbi stated that the importance of training and retraining cannot be over emphasised, saying it would further enhance employees’ skill and knowledge and improve performance, efficiency and morale of workers.

He added that both the House of Assembly and its Commission had benefited from series of training in the past, disclosing that more of such trainings were in the offing to shape their skills, make staffers more relevant and open them up to opportunities that would ensure their advancement beyond the civil service.

The Ex-Speaker applauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for entrusting him and the Commission members with the leadership of Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission affairs.

“Indeed, it is my pleasure to be part of the Commission, even as a Chairman of the House of Assembly Commission, I appreciate the governor for my appointment, and promising him again that I will not forfeit the confidence reposed on him, I will continue to strengthen the staff and members of the Commission,” Prince Adekunbi said.

He hailed the recent recruitment exercise for new intakes into legislative arm to beef up existing staff and administrative autonomy of the legislature, expressing optimism that the legislative arm would continue to enjoy the financial autonomy when fully implemented.

It would be recalled that the Commission had earlier gone on a study tour of Lagos House Assembly Service Commission, while assuring that his team would ensure they put to use all that had been learnt during their visit in improving the status of the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission.
