Tinubu Mourns with El-Rufai Over Mother’s Passing, Offers Prayers and Support

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed deep sympathy over the passing of the family matriarch, who died in Cairo after a period of illness.

President Tinubu described the late Hajiya Umma as a woman of strong character whose life and values were reflected in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, many of whom have made meaningful contributions to the country.

Addressing El-Rufai directly, the President acknowledged the emotional weight of losing a mother, noting that such a loss is deeply personal and painful. Drawing from his own experience, Tinubu said he understands the grief that comes with such a moment and prayed for comfort and strength for the bereaved family.

He urged the former governor to take solace in the legacy of love, guidance, and wisdom left behind by his mother, adding that her life was one of purpose and fulfillment.

Tinubu also emphasized faith in God’s will, stating that as believers, there is comfort in knowing she has returned to her Creator after completing her journey on earth.

The President joined family members, friends, and associates in mourning the deceased, praying that Almighty Allah grants her eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
