Apapa Customs Sets New Daily Revenue Record Under New Controller Oshoba

Less than a day after taking charge as Area Controller of Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba has begun translating his pledge of continuity and progress into action.
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the command recorded a historic revenue collection of ₦20,156,077,098.56, the highest ever daily figure by any Customs command under the Unified Customs Management System, also known as B’Odogwu.
The milestone surpassed the previous ₦18 billion record, reinforcing Oshoba’s vow in his maiden address to exceed targets set for the flagship command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Shortly after assuming office, the new CAC met with senior officers, commending past achievements while urging them to step up their efforts. “Outstanding results are the true evidence of hard work, dedication and an uncompromising approach to duty,” he told them, expressing confidence that the team can outperform its past records.
Reacting to the ₦20.1 billion breakthrough, Oshoba described it as the “beginning of greater exploits,” stressing that it was not yet time for celebration. “It’s not the time to clap yet because clapping means removing your two hands from work. Let’s reserve applause for when we surpass targets, curb smuggling attempts, and speed up trade processes without compromising integrity. I believe in action, which speaks louder than words,” he said.
Highlighting the role of B’Odogwu in driving efficiency, Oshoba described the platform as essential to modernising customs operations and boosting Nigeria’s trade profile as Africa’s largest economy.
He also urged officers and stakeholders to remain committed to excellence and compliance. “We are all part of history as our collective efforts resonate positively on the Nigerian economy,” he noted.
