“We then visited the general hospital where we found one injured motorcyclist, but from our discussion with the doctors, it was revealed that the two other victims have been discharged. When we left the hospital we then moved straight to the authority of the Nigeria Customs Service to listen to their own part of the story .

“Earlier, When we got to the area in the early hours of Tuesday morning, we observed a charged environment with youths blocking the roads. Our effort to meet with the traditional ruler was proved abortive as there was an ongoing chieftaincy wrangling which has created two thrones in the same town.”

“That it was an accident that led to the death of the deceased. The youths were provoked by the death of the innocent boy and immediately burnt the vehicle used to knock the deceased down.

“The custom officer who drove the vehicle seized from a suspected smuggler was speeding hence the awkward incident. The Customs paid the hospital bills of the two discharged victims injured and one other motorcyclist who is currently still under intensive care.”
