Ogun 2020 budget: Town hall meetings commences at Ogun east senatorial district

Stakeholders’ meetings in preparation for the Ogun State year 2020 budget across the three senatorial districts will commence at Ogun East senatorial district on Thursday, October 10th, 2019.

The event slated for Bisrod Hall, Igbeba GRA, Ijebu-Ode by 1pm prompt is in furtherance of the avowed commitment of the state government to inclusive governance and transparency.

According to a release signed by Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, stated that the first in the series will start tomorrow, while dates for other senatorial districts would be announced in due course.

Also, the release added: “The event, which will be presided by the state governor, is aimed at harnessing the contributions and inputs of citizens across all the critical sectors of the economy.

“The 2020 budget is to prioritise projects required to fulfil ‘the Building our Future Together’ Agenda of the Dapo Abiodun administration and to ensure strategic allocation of resources to projects and programmes that will make the most impact on the citizens.

“All officers from the post of assistant director and above, in the public service of Ogun State and representatives of different interest groups across the state, including traditional, religious and political leaders.

“Others are trade and market associations, professional bodies, civil society groups, student unions among others are also invited to these meetings. All participants are expected to be seated by 12noon.”
