(NSCEA) Congratulates Donald Trump on Surviving Assassination Attempt from Abuja, Nigeria — May 3, 2026. NSCEA said this is Divine Preservation, Emphasizes God’s Protection for Those Who Follow His Leadership.

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) offers profound thanksgiving to Almighty God and extends its warm congratulations to the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, following his survival of a reported assassination attempt during a high-level engagement in Washington, D.C.

This, NSCEA extends its heartfelt congratulations to the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, on his remarkable escape from a recent assassination attempt in Washington, D.C.

The reported incident, which disrupted a high-profile gathering and exposed significant security concerns, serves as a sobering reminder of the grave risks associated with leadership at the highest levels. The NSCEA notes with deep concern the escalation of political violence globally and calls for renewed commitment to peace, civility, and the sanctity of human life.

While acknowledging the ongoing circulation of various reports and allegations surrounding internal security decisions within the United States government, the Council urges caution, responsibility, and reliance on verified information. Matters of such magnitude must be handled with utmost integrity to avoid misinformation and unnecessary escalation of tensions.

The Council commends Mr. Trump’s resilience and courage in the face of danger. His public remarks reflecting acceptance of the risks inherent in leadership and his continued expression of patriotism demonstrate a notable resolve under pressure. Such composure in moments of crisis underscores the human dimension of leadership often obscured by political narratives.

The NSCEA emphasizes that leadership is not merely a position of authority but a calling that demands sacrifice, vulnerability, and unwavering commitment to duty. As scripture reminds us in Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” It is in this spirit that the Council encourages all global leaders to seek divine guidance and protection in their service to humanity.

Furthermore, the Council calls on world governments, security agencies, and international bodies to strengthen protective frameworks around public officials while also addressing the root causes of violence, extremism, and political hostility.

The Council interprets this escape not merely as a fortunate incident, but as a manifestation of divine intervention—an illustration of God’s enduring power to preserve those whose lives, whether knowingly or unknowingly, remain under His sovereign watch.

As declared in Psalm 121:7–8:
“The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
This moment stands as a powerful reminder to the global community that human security systems, while necessary, are ultimately limited. True and lasting protection comes from God alone—especially for those who walk in obedience and alignment with His will.

The Holy Scriptures affirm this truth repeatedly:
Psalm 91:3–4
“Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
Proverbs 18:10
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
Isaiah 54:17
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.”

The NSCEA underscores that divine protection is not accidental—it is often tied to submission to God’s leadership, reverence for His authority, and a life that seeks His guidance. Leaders who acknowledge God in their decisions invite His covering over their lives and responsibilities.
As instructed in Proverbs 3:5–6:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

In reflecting upon the resilience demonstrated by Mr. Trump in the aftermath of the incident, the Council recognizes the importance of courage that is rooted not merely in human confidence but in spiritual assurance. The ability to confront danger without surrendering to fear reflects a deeper principle captured in Psalm 27:1:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Furthermore, the Council highlights that those who follow divine leadership are not promised absence of danger, but assurance of God’s presence in the midst of it:
Isaiah 43:2
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned.”
2 Samuel 22:3–4
“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge… I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”
Psalm 34:7
“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”

The NSCEA therefore calls on leaders across the world to recognize that the weight of leadership must be carried not in isolation, but in partnership with divine wisdom. Without God, power becomes vulnerable; with God, even in vulnerability, there is preservation.

The Council also urges caution regarding circulating reports and unverified allegations tied to the incident. Truth must prevail over speculation. As written in John 8:32:
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
In addition, the NSCEA calls on governments and global institutions to strengthen both physical and moral safeguards around leadership. The erosion of values, rise of hatred, and normalization of violence must be addressed with urgency and sincerity.

The Council further reminds all believers and citizens of their spiritual responsibility to pray for those in authority:
1 Timothy 2:1–2
“I exhort therefore, that… prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority…”
Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Nahum 1:7
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”

As the world reflects on this incident, the NSCEA emphasizes that divine protection is not reserved for a select few, but is available to all who genuinely seek God and follow His leadership. It is in obedience, humility, and faith that men and women come under the covering of God’s unfailing shield.

In closing, the Council offers prayers of thanksgiving for life preserved and calls on all leaders—present and future—to walk in the fear of God, for therein lies true security.
Psalm 125:2
“As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.”

The NSCEA stands in prayer for the safety of all leaders across nations and reaffirms its commitment to promoting peace, justice, and godly leadership worldwide. May the Almost God continue to protect and bless President Donald Trump of United States of America.
