No Faction In Ogun APC, We Are One Family – Olubori
By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State chapter has reiterated that there is no factions in the party, adding that members are united and one family.
Similarly, the leadership of the party emphasised that former Governor Olusegun Osoba remains the recognised father of the party and rally point for membership.
Ogun State Secretary of the party, Ayo Olubori cleared the air following speculations that some individuals have embarked on self-acclaimed leadership positions, and thereby alleged it have attempted to create factions in the party.
Olubori narrated: “Chief Yemi Sanusi led APC executive remains the only recognised executive of the party duly approved by the National Headquarters in Abuja, while the state secretariat is still at Iyana Mortuary area, Abeokuta.”
In his admonition, Olubori viewed that anybody can parade himself as a party member or leader, but the only leader as far as Ogun is concern is Chief Osoba, who had trained many people the tactics of politics.
“Everybody has passed through Chief Osoba, and anybody who claimed not to have passed through him should come out boldy to say it.
“I am not aware of any party secretariat at Oke-mosan, or any other place as being rumoured in some quartets. The only authentic party secretariat is the one we have at Iyana mortuary area of the town.
“Also, anybody can parade himself as representative of the party, as far as we are concerned, the APC in Ogun State is one, and we have one leader who is not only a state leader, but a national leader in person of Chief Olusegun Osoba.”
Furthermore, he remarked that if there is anyone that is not happy with that fact, he or she is free to carve out his own party, but not in the name of APC.
He said: “The APC leadership in Ogun will not compromise its standard because the party is supreme, and we should be honest with ourselves. I want to remind everyone that the party gave birth to this present government.
“Baba Osoba immense contributions in the party be it at the state level, his goodwill, financial resources and many in particular led to the success of the party at the national and state level. So am not aware of party secretariat at Oke-Mosan, am only aware of APC secretariat at Iyana mortuary.
“I have no objection to former governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun being a member of APC. At no point in time he denied being a member of APC, we are not aware of that denial, he is a member of the party representing Ogun Central district at National Assembly, Abuja.”
