NANS South-South dissociates self from planned nationwide protest

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone B (South-South), has dissociated itself from the planned nationwide protest slated for Monday, October 20, 2025.

In a statement issued on Friday, the zonal leadership of the students’ body cautioned students across the South-South region against participating in the protest, warning that certain political actors were attempting to manipulate the current national situation for personal gain.

The association emphasized that it remains committed to peace, unity, and constructive dialogue as effective tools for addressing challenges facing Nigerian students and the nation as a whole.

NANS Zone B also urged students to remain focused on their studies and to continue upholding the law as responsible citizens contributing to national development.

The statement further reaffirmed the Zone’s unwavering commitment to protecting the interests and welfare of all students under its jurisdiction.
