Lai Mohammed: I’m 100% Behind Tinubu Administration
Former Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, says his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains unwavering, affirming that he is “100% behind this administration.”
Mohammed made the statement on Friday while delivering the 15th convocation lecture of Achievers University in Owo, Ondo State. The former minister, who served for eight years under the Buhari administration, said he now prefers to contribute from behind the scenes after years of operating at the forefront of national politics.
“I am a very loyal member of the APC,” he told the audience. “I am 100% behind this administration. But I have played my role on the frontline. Whatever I need to do now, I will pass it through the back channels.”
Mohammed noted that he remains grateful for the opportunity to have served as the longest-serving information minister in Nigeria’s history. He added that his current priority is mentoring young Nigerians and supporting capacity-building efforts across higher institutions.
His lecture focused heavily on youth development, with a call for stronger mentorship frameworks to help students transition from academic life to national leadership.
The event was part of activities marking the university’s convocation ceremony, which brought together academics, stakeholders, and students from across the country.
