Keep Praying Tinubu Doesn’t Look Away From Us, Wike Tells Wife
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said the success of any minister in government depends largely on the confidence and support of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during a public event, Wike noted that holding a ministerial office alone does not guarantee performance if the President does not provide the necessary backing.
“You can be a minister, but without the President’s support, you won’t perform well,” Wike said.
The former Rivers State governor also shared a personal insight into his daily prayers, revealing that while he does not consider himself adept at praying, he relies on his wife to intercede for him.
According to him, his daily prayer is simply to return home safely, while he urges his wife to continually pray that President Tinubu never withdraws his support.
“Every morning I tell my wife—she prays a lot, I don’t know how to pray well. My own prayer is, ‘God, let me come back home safely.’ But I tell her: keep praying that President Tinubu will not look away from us,” Wike said.
His remarks underscore the importance he places on presidential backing as a key factor in delivering on the responsibilities of public office.
