Heath expert explained correlation between depression and Vitamin D deficiency

The Chief Executive Officer Health Organization, The Health Place Mrs.Ola Ola has explained the correlation between depression and vitamin D deficiency.

She said, the world is a big hot mess and it seems like everywhere you turn, there is insecurity and chaos, leaving a lot of people anxious, fearful and even depressed.
According to her, there is more sinister and hidden cause of depression especially in black community that hides in plain sight.
Sighting the case of a woman who has been struggling for a whole year with severe sadness leading to depression.

She had tried everything in the books: affirmation, gratitude, even therapy, with everything else not working. She was casually asked to get a complete and general lab work including blood and hormonal tests in January.
Her results were shocking, she was severely deficient of vitamin D.

While this may not apply to everyone, it is a good place to start.
Vitamin D is known as the sunshine vitamin because the body produces it when your skin is exposed to the sun.
This essential fat-soluble nutrient helps keep bones healthy and strong, promotes cell growth and enhance immunity.
Vitamin D may also play a role in depression as researchers have noted that many people with depression have low vitamin D levels.
Researchers have also found out that many people who have depression also have low circulating levels of vitamin D in their blood and so it is possible that the two factors are related.

Depression and vitamin D deficiency are two distinct conditions, each with its own set of symptoms. If you are experiencing symptoms of either or both conditions, speak with a health care professional.
