Governor Uzodimma Increases Imo State Minimum Wage to ₦104,000

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved a new minimum wage of ₦104,000 for civil servants in the state. This marks a substantial increase of over 25% compared to the current national minimum wage of ₦75,000.

The announcement was made during a meeting with state labour representatives at the Government House in Owerri. During the session, the governor also introduced revised salary structures for various professional sectors.

According to Governor Uzodimma, medical doctors employed in the state civil service will now receive a monthly salary of ₦533,000, while entry-level lecturers at state-owned tertiary institutions will earn ₦222,000 per month.
