Evans is worth more than N5b – Police
The kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evan is said to worth over Five Billion Naira (N5b).
The Team Lead of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari disclosed this.
Onwuamadike was arrested by the IRT on Saturday in his lavishly furnished home in highbrow Magodo Estate in Lagos State.
The house in which he was arrested is one of the two he owns inside Magodo Estate, with the cost of purchase put at N200 million.
Onwuamadike said he bought one of the houses for N130 million and the other for N70 million.
According to Kyari, Onwuamadike has been buying properties in Nigeria and Ghana since 2008.
Kyari said he uses the names of his wife children to buy the properties.
He is equally said to own a house in Igando area of Lagos State and two four-bedroom duplexes in Ghana.
Kyari said: “He invested his kidnapping proceeds into real estate and has about seven different gangs working for him.
“Each gangs has different phone, which he used to communicate with them.”
Onwuamadike is said to have 11 expensive mobile phones.
He confessed to the police that three of the phones were bought for $6,000 each.
