Eric-Duke properties donate 1,000 litres of diesel to Edo NUJ

Eric-Duke Properties Nigeria Limited on Wednesday donated 1,000 litres of automotive gas oil popularly knowns as diesel and Airtel 4G Wi-Fi Router to the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Edo State Council.
In his address, Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Albert Obazee remarked that donating the products was in recognition of the union towards the development of the country.
He added that he was motivated to do so having discovered that the union premises was dark without light, in spite of having an industrial generator that could power a community, but with no diesel.
Onazee, who also is the convener of Crack Team Naija said: “I have to consult my partners on how to support the union by donating diesel and internet facility to them. NUJ is the power house of this nation. This is not political, but as part of the company corporate social responsibility to the society.
“I am appealing to well meaning individuals, corporate bodies and Edo citizens at home and Diaspora to always support the union in its quest to make Nigeria great. Government cannot be everywhere. As for the internet Wi-Fi, we will subscribe it for a period of six months. We urge our esteem journalists to be fair and neutral in their reporting.”
Moreover, the union chairman, Comrade Sir Roland Osakue appreciated the donor for deeming it fit to donate these  products. Adding that it will go a long way in the memory of the union.
“On behalf of the union, we want to say a big thank you for empowering the union with these products. It takes people with mindset to do so. Fueling the generator since last year has been a burden carried out by union.
“Journalists are regarded as the fourth estate of the government, yet no allocation has been received from the government, unlike other ‘Arms’ of the government.
“Our building is dilapidated, and in dire need of renovation, but we do not generate revenue to carry out the task. We are appealing to the general public to come to our aid,” he said.
