El-Rufai Granted Temporary Bail to Attend Mother’s Funeral

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been released on temporary bail from the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The release, approved on compassionate grounds, will allow him to attend the funeral of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday.

A close aide confirmed that the decision followed the family’s bereavement.

Reacting to the development, his son, Bashir El-Rufai, announced the release in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, while expressing strong criticism of the agency that had detained his father.
