Ekiti Monarchs Congratulate Oyebanji on Re-election
….Urge More Development Across Communities
Three traditional rulers in Ekiti State have congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election, attributing his victory to what they described as his impressive performance during his first term in office.
The monarchs, who include the Owa of Oke-Ako Ekiti, HRM Oba Olanrewaju Bamidele Olanrewaju Oni; the Obanla of Ipao Ekiti, HRM Oba Pastor Williams Oluseyi Ehinmodupin Afotitogbade I; and the Regent of Usin Ekiti, Her Royal Majesty Wuraola Edwards, expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to consolidate on his achievements during his second term.
They prayed for Oyebanji’s success as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state, while commending his administration for what they described as notable achievements in various sectors.
According to the traditional rulers, the governor’s interventions in road infrastructure, security, employment opportunities for youths and the welfare of traditional institutions have contributed significantly to the development of their communities.
They specifically praised the administration for the prompt payment of monarchs’ salaries and other entitlements, describing the gesture as an indication of the governor’s commitment to the traditional institution.
However, the monarchs appealed to Oyebanji not to relent in addressing the remaining developmental needs of their communities, urging him to consider their outstanding requests as he begins his second term.
Meanwhile, traditional chiefs in Oke Ayedun Ekiti have also congratulated Governor Oyebanji on his re-election and commended their monarch, HRM Oba (Sir) Olufemi Aribisala (KCW), Obembe I, the Alaaye of Oke Ayedun Ekiti, for his leadership since ascending the throne.
In separate interviews, Chief Mrs Funmilayo Racheal Aribisala, the Ewi of Idemo Oke Ayedun; High Chief Sule Ogundare, the Odofin of Oke Ayedun; Otunba Alaaye Olu Ogunleye, the Otunba of Oke Ayedun; and Chief Mrs Ajibola Mary Yeye Asalu, congratulated Governor Oyebanji and paid tribute to their monarch for his leadership and contributions to the community.
The chiefs also celebrated the Alaaye of Oke Ayedun on the occasion of the 40th Oke Ayedun Day celebration, whose grand finale is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
They described the annual celebration as an important occasion for unity, cultural preservation and community development, while expressing optimism that the event would further strengthen bonds among indigenes and residents of Oke Ayedun.
