Committee recommends six months suspension for Natasha
The Senate Committee on Ethics has recommended a six-month suspension for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The committee also advised Akpoti-Uduaghan to apologize to the Senate for “disrespecting the institution.” If suspended, she would lose her salary and security details during that period.
The controversy surrounding Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegations has sparked heated debates. Previously, the Senate rejected her petition, citing procedural invalidity.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had resubmitted the petition on behalf of her constituents, led by Zubairu Yakubu, after which it was referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics.
