Army Chief visits troops in frontline

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has visited troops fighting Boko Haram Terrorists in the North East.

Speaking during the visit, Gen Buratai commended the troops for their resilience and doggedness in the ongoing fight against insurgency.

The COAS who was represented by the  Corps Commander Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Major General Johnson Olawumi expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the troops.

He urged the troops to be alert at all times as well as maintain the momentum, adding that he was in their location in other to have first hand information from them.

He further stated that the welfare of the troops will be given adequate attention it requires.

He was briefed on the operational readiness of the troops. Present during the visit were some Principal Staff Officers who accompanied him.
