APC Blasts ADC, Says Party Responsible for Its Own Crisis

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing the opposition party of being responsible for its internal crisis and political setbacks.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the ADC as a “confused and desperate” coalition of politicians prone to spreading conspiracy theories about attempts to undermine its structure.

The ruling party alleged that the ADC’s troubles stem from internal mismanagement, particularly the emergence of a factional leadership led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola. According to the APC, the duo’s assumption of leadership violated the party’s constitutional provisions and disregarded due process.

The APC further defended the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to derecognize the factional executives, stating that the move was in compliance with a court judgment and aligned with democratic principles.

“It is escapist and irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for its internal woes,” the statement read, insisting that the opposition party must take full responsibility for what it described as a “self-inflicted crisis.”

The ruling party also questioned the credibility of the ADC as a viable political platform, arguing that its inability to manage internal affairs reflects a lack of capacity to govern the country.

Reaffirming its position, the APC said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to delivering on its “Renewed Hope Agenda” and strengthening democratic institutions for national development.
