Anambra: APC defeats Peter Obi in bis polling unit
The Labour Party suffered a setback as its candidate lost at the polling unit of the party’s national leader, Peter Obi, in the ongoing Anambra State governorship election.
At Polling Unit 019, Agulu Ward 11, Anaocha Local Government Area, results announced around 3 p.m. showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, secured 73 votes, defeating Labour Party’s George Moghalu, who garnered 57 votes.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) finished third in the unit with 38 votes.
Peter Obi, a two-term former governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, had earlier cast his vote at the same polling unit after actively campaigning for his party’s flag bearer.
