Adesanya-Davies bails Tinubu, DSS over rescue of 38 abducted worshippers

…Calls for Sustained Intelligence, Stronger Synergy Among Security Agencies

A Former Presidential Candidate Professor Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, has extended heartfelt commendations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the Department of State Services (DSS) for what she described as a swift, courageous, and highly coordinated intervention that led to the successful rescue of 38 abducted worshippers of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Enugu, Kwara State.

Adesanya-Davies, a distinguished academic and revered Princess of Ira in Kwara State, said the rescue operation is a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s commitment to protecting the lives of Nigerians and restoring public confidence in the nation’s security architecture. She noted that the President’s directives and the responsiveness of the DSS helped avert what could have become another national tragedy.

According to a statement issued on Monday, Adesanya said “This operation shows that when the political will is clear and security agencies are provided the necessary support, Nigeria has the capacity to defeat criminality. I applaud President Tinubu for prioritizing the safety of citizens and ensuring that these innocent worshippers returned home alive.”

She further praised the DSS for its professionalism, precision intelligence, and rapid deployment, stressing that the agency’s effective coordination with other security organs was central to the success of the operation. She described the rescue as a reassuring sign that improved intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration can yield positive outcomes in the ongoing fight against insecurity.

Adesanya-Davies also called on the Federal Government, state governments, and all security institutions to sustain the tempo, deepen intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and invest more in both technology and community-based security systems. She emphasized that the battle against kidnappers, bandits, and terrorists requires consistency, unity, and a proactive approach.

While rejoicing with the rescued victims and their families, she urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue supporting lawful efforts to secure the country, adding that the safety of worshippers, students, farmers, and citizens across all regions must remain a national priority.
