Zulum Appoints Former Jere Council Chairman Mai Deribe as Special Adviser
Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has appointed former Executive Chairman of Jere Local Government Area, Hon. Abubakar Mai Deribe, as Special Adviser to the Governor.
The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the appointment was made pursuant to the powers conferred on the Governor under Section 196(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.
Mai Deribe brings to the new position considerable political and administrative experience, having served in various political capacities, including as Executive Chairman of Jere Local Government Area.

Governor Zulum congratulated the new Special Adviser and charged him to justify the confidence placed in him by the administration.
The governor urged Mai Deribe to approach his new responsibilities with dedication, commitment and selfless service to the people of Borno State.
The appointment further adds an experienced political figure to Governor Zulum’s administration as the state continues to pursue its development and reconstruction agenda.
