“We cannot be tied to the apron string of ruling party”- ANN Nat. Chairman….says ANN the only platform to lift Nigeria to enviable standard

National Chairman of Alliance for New Nigeria ANN, Dr. Jay Osi Samuels has raised an alarm over plans by some individuals with the ruling party trying to hijack the party.

Dr. Samuels who raised the alarm recently in Abuja pointed out that when they started the journey, the believe was that the party would be a platform to lift the nation to an enviable standard.

“But along the line there were troubles and many challenges. We never imagined that some of the challenges we faced in the past would still make us become a credible and fastest growing party amongst the new generation of the political parties in the country.

“At the start, we made sure that there would be no god-fatherism but, unfortunately for us, some individuals in cahoots with some formidable forces in the ruling party, are trying to hijack and claim ownership of the party. Also at the onset, we made it clear that nobody owns the party as it belongs to everybody.

“We cannot allow ourselves to be tied to the apron string of some forces. These people planted moles and almost took over the structure of the party.  They want to make the party impotent but we will never subscribe to that. We are not deterred, because we have a clear conscience and know where we are headed as a party.

“ANN is a divine orchestration. Whatever plans of the wicked forces will be divinely shattered. We are making appointments stride in the processes towards the 2019 general elections.

“We are here today because of one person who has provided the platform – Olawepo Hashim. If not for him, there could have been nothing we would call ANN today.”

Speaking on the crisis within the party, Samuels said; “If there is any faction in ANN,  this is the genuine and credible ANN. There are influential forces that we thought were playing with us but we realised they were not joking but serious about bringing down the party.”

He charged members of the party to be vigilant and stay alert and be wary of unscrupulous members.
