Victoria Travels Reduces Fare for Walk-In Passengers on Makurdi–Abuja Route

Victoria Travels has announced a temporary reduction in transport fares for walk-in passengers travelling from Makurdi to Abuja, as part of efforts to ease movement during the festive season.

In a statement issued by the management, the company explained that a surcharge had earlier been introduced on the Abuja–Makurdi route to ensure buses could return from Makurdi to Abuja to pick up waiting passengers. However, recent observations showed that some buses were returning to Abuja with empty seats, leading to operational wastage.

To address this and reduce the financial burden on travellers, Victoria Travels approved a reduced fare of ₦6,000 for walk-in passengers on the Makurdi–Abuja (MKD–ABJ) route.

The management clarified that the discounted fare applies strictly to walk-in passengers travelling from Makurdi to Abuja. Passengers who book online or onsite to secure a seat and preferred travel time will continue to pay the regular fare of ₦12,000.

According to the guidelines, walk-in passengers will be placed on a waiting list and boarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the availability of empty seats. Departure times will depend solely on seat availability. The arrangement is valid only for the duration of the surcharge period.

Victoria Travels noted that the initiative is aimed at improving bus utilisation while providing relief to passengers during the busy festive season.

The company operates from Victoria Travels Bus Station, Victoria Atorough Tyough Plaza, Wurukum, Makurdi, and can be reached via 07063167634, 09026314495, or 09096101934.

Management thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation.
