VETERAN TELEVISION BROADCASTER,DEMOLA ODUSANYA DIES

A Veteran Television Broadcaster, Demola Odusanya,famously referred to Kandoso in media world and social circle has died.
The Ijebu born Odusanya according to family source died in the early hours of Wednesday following a stroke attack.It would be recalled that, he had about over five years ago had a mild stroke,which he survived but has been nursing until his sudden death.
He retired three years ago from Ogun State Television,OGTV as Assistant General Manager(Programmes),and ironically he visited the station on Tuesday,not knowing that would be his last day.
Ironically, Odusanya was reported to had a day before his demise also visited the secretariat of Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC,to catch fun with friends and associates,and was said to be lively
However, his sudden death has continued to attract symphaty from friends,colleagues and family members across the globe.
Majority of participants on penpushing,a social media platform could not hold their shock over the sudden development, which caught them unaware.
A journalist and former Chairperson of National Association of Women Journalists,NAWOJ,Dupe Oshikolu in her condolence message lamented and recalled her last discussion with the deceased
Her words ‘The news has shattered my day. I spoke with him last week. He said: ‘Someone told me he saw you in lawyer’s costume. Welcome back. I warned you, acting is a bug…’ Never knew that would be our last discussion. May God rest his kind soul!’
A veteran journalist and active participants on penpushing platform, Olooye Lekan Alabi in his comment wrote, ‘May Demola’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen. He was my junior at African Church Grammar School, Apata – Ganga,Ibadan,Oyo State’.
‘In and out of school, Demola exhibited the time-honoured Yoruba Omoluabi culture. He was a thoroughbred professional in the broadcast industry. Demola could not hurt a fly. I pray that God will console his family,friends and colleagues. Amen’,the Ibadan High Chief added.
Similarly, a news editor with Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, Bolaji Fajounbo on his own lamented thus, ‘Demola Odusanya (Kadoso) ever unassuming,consistently warm and ceaselessly inspirational. Good night sir’.
Also Segun Ojelade of Nigeria Television Authority,NTA, International,wrote,’ He mentored many and was an inspiration to a number of today’s professional broadcasters. Demola Odusanya really made his mark and will surely be missed. Good night’
Another notable member on the platform,Sina Oduko, in his remark said, ‘Late Odusanya: Lord, grant his family the fortitude with which to bear the loss. Eternal rest grant him oh Lord.
In the same vein, Demolu Okuneye, also of Nigeria Television Authority,NTA, Ibadan Headquarters wrote in his condolence message, ‘The Television industry will surely miss Adomola Odusanya. May his soul rest in peace’
The media aide to President of the Senate,Yusuph Olaniyonu,who is also an active member of penpushing platform expressed shock,’Oh, this is incredible. May Almighty Allah take care of the family left by Mr. Odusanya’.
Another veteran broadcaster and former Director with National Broadcasting Commission,NBC, Eddy Aina wrote, ‘May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and the family the strong heart to bear the loss bearing in mind that death is a necessary end for all mortals and it will come when it will’.
A colleague of the deceased, Gbenga Gbesan, wrote, ‘For a friend and colleague, it’s light out. Enjoy your perfect peace Demola where no worry disturbs. Curtain raised; end captions: ADIEU DEMO!’
Also Kazeem Olowe who was a beneficiary of the deceased in the media industry wrote, ‘So sad, I lost a teacher, friend and father. ‘Demola Odusanya was part of my success story. Adieu Kadoso!’
