Update: Meeting With Governors Has Nothing To Do With President’s Health- Lai Mohammed

The Federal Government has allayed the fears of Nigeria over the state of the health of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the meeting with the governors has nothing to do with president’s health.

The 36 state governors are currently meeting with federal government in Abuja, it was rumoured that the meeting was called as a result of the state of president’s health.

Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed stated this when he received members of the Presidential Initiative Committee on the North-East who visited him in Abuja.

Mohammed said while the report was false, added that the governors were also not planning to send representatives to London to see the President.

The minister said there was no need for the visit, saying that the President was merely observing his leave as stated in the letter sent to the Senate before leaving the country.
